How MoonClerk Has Helped Lori Harris Reduce Delinquent Payments For Her Coaching Business

 Lori Harris talks with us about how the ease-of-use of MoonClerk’s payment system has helped her keep her coaching clients on-track and up-to-date on payments. 

Can you tell us a little about what you do?

I'm Coach Lori and as an Integrative Change Coach and Life Mastery Consultant, I offer personalized coaching services with a unique approach. My focus is on empowering Black women leaders who undertake challenging and significant roles in the community. I equip them with tools and techniques to enhance their lives without increasing their workload. My understanding of the distinct needs of helpers, healers, and changemakers sets my services apart. 

What are your day-to-day responsibilities?

I'm a solo operator, and I do a lot on my own. Maintaining client relationships is the soul of the business. I provide individual and group coaching services remotely and in person at workshops and retreats internationally via Zoom. I get some help with online tech and my podcast, Unlock Your Life with Lori Harris, but I make the rest of the business happen.

How did you get started?

After working as a community organizer and activist for over a decade, I continued my work as a mentor, juvenile defender, and trial lawyer for over thirty years. I loved working with young people, focusing on improving their lives and helping them achieve their dreams. I had a transformative coaching experience and decided to pursue a coaching certification. My coaching practice helps me expand my ripple. All my clients make the world a better place. As my clients work to build a just world, I help them create personal lives they love. On my own I could never touch all the issues I care about. Coaching makes it possible, whether it's health care, justice, environmental, or other issues, to have an impact by helping women who are helping others. 

What have been some key factors in growing your business? 

Growing a business requires persistence. As I grow, my clients return and refer others, which has been a huge honor and the key to my success.

What do you use MoonClerk for?

When my clients work with me, they are making a four to five-figure investment. I use MoonClerk to collect payments for my programs, retreats, and services. MoonClerk helps make coaching available to more people with payment plans and relieves me of the duty of becoming a bank or collection agent. 

 What problems did you have with your previous payment system? 

Before MoonClerk, I used various payment methods, but I didn't like any of them. Mainly, they didn't feel professional and I was concerned about security and privacy. 

As a new entrepreneur, I needed help with everything. I hired my business coach, Maya Gaddie, who helped me automate important tasks. She suggested MoonClerk, and I have been so happy with the platform that I've never looked back.

What was your experience when getting started with MoonClerk?

I am not a techie, but MoonClerk is so easy to use that it's impossible for me to mess it up. Let me tell you, that's saying something!

What specific feature do you like most about MoonClerk?

I love the ease of creating a payment form with the ability to integrate terms and conditions. Naturally, I have a service contract, but I love reinforcing the most important aspects of the coaching relationship. 

There's a firewall between me and the client's financial data, and that's great. I never know or interact with their information, which relieves me of the duty to safely store or destroy their information.   

I can easily create payment links without special graphic design, technical, or coding skills. MoonClerk makes it easy to collect payment for my services.

How has MoonClerk improved or helped your business?

The scheduled predictability helps my clients plan and show up as they wish 100% of the time. MoonClerk helps clients be great clients. I have only had two clients fall off track with their payments, but they quickly remedied the error once they became aware of it.
